Revolution will not be televised - A Day in Life
Local e globalmente, social e culturalmente, individual e colectivamente.
The historical awareness of the world we live in is a product largely due to our "reading" of the signs of the time. The word and the image and it's infinite meaningful powers are those signs. The typographic word, the captured moment in the photography, the recorded time in the video frames, ultimately, the literature, cinema and all the artistic expressions present themselves as "contact proofs" with reality, allowing us to locate them spacial and temporally, local and globally, social and culturally, individual and collectively.
Starting from one of the proposed themes for the project - RWNBT - it was developed a research and graphic work around a political event and set of the second half of the twentieth century - namely, the Vietnam War. It was made an aggregation of necessary and relevant data, an extensive study of the same, crossing it with various references in the most divers fields such as arts, politics, culture, sociology, the real and the non real.
The work is based on the design of an "archive" file with all the information about the theme so that in a second moment it can be used to design a periodic publication - magazine and multimedia - around the metaphor "A day in Life (as if it was a special edition), looking at the theme starting from the gathering of documental and fictional associations, allowing a development of a layout richer in solutions, conceptually and formally speaking. Therefore, the project had to be developed starting by defining editorial settings, by understanding the specific nature of the different information/communication objects and ultimately creating a graphic speech suitable to the requested briefing.
